Cameras

With literally thousands of different models available from hundreds of manufacturers, the correct selection of cameras is critical to the overall performance of the system.
Recording and Storage
One of the largest developments within the CCTV industry in the last 10 years has been the migration from tape based analogue recording to tape free digital technology.
With hard drive capacities continuing to grow it is possible to offer long term storage of high quality, high frame rate recording with the added advantage fast image search, retrieval and archiving to DVD.

We try, where possible, to build in future expansion so that the system has room to grow without the need for expensive equipment to be replaced once capacity is reached. Systems are available that enable on-site recording with off-site viewing capabilities if required. These systems normally require a fixed IP address and can then become a controlled virtual website, enabling authorized users the ability to call up the recording unit and view either live images or pre-recorded images. The speed of the connection will dictate the image refresh rates and overall performance.
Monitoring and Control
We are able to provide single point viewing monitors right through to dedicated control rooms utilising the latest technology and video monitor walls. It is important that the image clarity from the camera/s to the viewing monitor is of a suitable resolution and therefore important that all the components which make up a CCTV system are sourced around high quality products with the correct performance characteristics. The system must be simple and operate and control equipment should be designed and laid out in such a way as to minimize user error and fatigue when in operation.

IP networks can be an ideal means of transmitting information and images around a site without the need for costly dedicated cabling and can provide with a multitude of users access to specific images.

Highly trained operators in a BS8418 accredited Monitoring Station can respond to and prevent unauthorized access by challenging potential intruders, alerting emergency services and initiating predetermined procedures. It is also possible to offer remote building management services such as controlling gates, barriers and lighting.
IP CCTV
The recent development of high definition, megapixel imaging technology driven in part from the broadcast and consumer markets has led to the availability of these products for security applications. Logiscan Security Systems Ltd have considerable experience in this aspect of CCTV and are able to offer high-quality, high-performance network-based CCTV systems. Our experience in this emerging market is such that we area able to provide solutions based on existing networks (LANs and WANs) or create a dedicated security IP infrastructure which does not rely on or conflict with other aspects of an organizations network. The developments of IP based high definition cameras and new compression techniques are also providing a means of transmission that use new technologies to reduce the bandwidth requirements of a typical IP based solution. These systems can be centralized or non-centralised and can incorporate edge recording devices within the camera units. The cameras can be powered via a single cable (POE) which also acts as the data point connection. These systems allow customers to make use of a facility’s network and network infrastructure, representing significant savings in cabling, hardware and manpower resources.
